Muireann, the most recent addition to our team, graduated with a Bsc Hons degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown in 2004 and is currently completing a Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) Masters.
A Senior Physiotherapist with a wide variety of experience, Muireann has worked within: the NHS, HSE, Private Practice, County and Club Sports teams and the medical team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Muireann is committed to developing her knowledge and skills. She is: a fully licensed Acupuncturist, a specialist in the treatment of bladder and bowel incontinence for both female and male patients, and a current member of the ACPWH. She has several years’ experience of treating women who suffer from pregnancy-related musculoskeletal problems including :urinary/faecal urgency and/or incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain symptoms. She also teaches antenatal and Pilates classes.
Muireann is also a fully certified Lymphoedema Specialist Physiotherapist with full standard and advanced level CDT training from the Foeldi Lymphoedema School, member of the Lymphoedema Network Northern Ireland offering Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) including Multi-Layer Lymphoedema Bandaging (MLLB), Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), compression garment prescription and Lymphoedema Kinesiotaping.
Since qualifying Muireann has completed a number of post graduate courses including Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) Masters, British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) Level 1 and 2, APPI Body Control Pilates Level 1 and 2, Ante & Post Natal Pilates as well as Practical Biomechanics and Connective Tissue Management courses.
